Brainspottng accesses subcortical brain regions through neural connections behind the retina to the superior colliculi on the brainstem. It accesses visual, kinesthetic, and auditory layers of the superior colliculi, releasing unconscious suppressed emotions as grief, despair, sadness, anger depression, fear, etc. It can be life-changing in its ability to release cellularly stored, pervasive unconscious emotions. Brainspotting resolves acute trauma, typically in 1-3 sessions.
Brainspotting is done with a pointer on which you rest your eye gaze. As the pointer moves horizontally across your field of vision, you report whether the prior activated feelings are stronger or weaker. Eye gaze where stronger feelings occur dissipates the feelings, resolving a portion of the issue.
